WKNO to Premiere New Monthly Local Series for Viewers Aged 50+

WKNO is proud to present The Best Times, a new half-hour magazine-style series featuring segments on health, finance, technology, lifestyles, and more tailored specifically for WKNO’s viewers aged 50+. The Best Times premieres Thursday, January 22 at 7:30 p.m. on WKNO.

This monthly series, produced and hosted by Cris Hardaway, will not only deliver valuable information but also include interviews and advice from professionals in many different fields.

The Best Times is about something we’re all doing – getting older,” said Hardaway. “It addresses the challenges and opportunities that the 21st century presents to the fast-growing 50+ population segment. The show and its community outreach will inform, enlighten and entertain in an effort to make the next chapter of our lives the best times.”

The Best Times, produced in cooperation with the monthly publication, premieres with a cover story on “Surviving the Economic Storm”, giving information and insight into protecting the nest eggs of 50+ viewers. It will also spotlight the digital television transition and feature an interview with Lester Gingold, publisher of the publication The Best Times.

“We are very excited to partner with WKNO on this series”, said Gingold. “This is an important, influential segment of the population and there’s simply not enough information out there to help us navigate new phases in our lives.”

The Best Times will premiere Thursday, January 22, at 7:30 p.m. It will repeat Saturday, January 24 at 3:00 p.m. and Sunday, January 25 at 9:00 a.m. on WKNO. It also airs Saturday, January 24 at 8:30 p.m. on WKNO2.

WKNO is a non-profit, private foundation serving the Mid-South for more than 50 years. An important community resource, WKNO uses the power of non-commercial public broadcasting to provide the Mid-South with quality educational and cultural programs that inform, entertain, and inspire.
